Kirli Saunders
Proud Gunai Woman, Kirli Saunders (OAM) is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist, writer, singer-songwriter and consultant with a passion for enlivening spaces and engaging broad audiences in bold conversations for social impact. Her celebrated film collaboration, Cry of the Glossy (Grassland Films) has been screened around the world. Her designs have been commissioned for large public art, and digital installations including Traces (VIVID) and First Lights (Fremantle Biennale). Her solo work, Yandha Djanbay was staged by Merrigong Theatre Co 2025.
Kirli’s eight celebrated books, among others include Eclipse (Allen & Unwin 2025), Afloat (Hardie Grant, 2024, The Land Recalls You (Scholastic, 2024) and Bindi (Magabala 2023). Kirli is currently recording an album with Mark Chester Harding, for their project, Cooee.
