Krystal Gagen-SpriggsKrystal is a Lecturer in the School of Information and Communication Studies. She is part of the Teacher Librarianship team and is a specialist in school libraries and reading for pleasure. Krystal is currently completing her PhD through the School of Information and Communication Studies. Her research is in reading cultures, teacher librarians as influencers, and reluctant readers. Krystal has experience as a practicing teacher-librarian and has completed two Master of Education degrees – one in Teacher Librarianship and the other in Educational Research.

Using GenAI in the School Library - Theory and Practice
Krystal will tune us in to the research and theoretical basis for Teacher Librarians getting familiar with GenAI and using it in the school library. She and Marika Simon will demonstrate some practical ways to incorporate various GenAI applications in your teaching and library practice. Suitable for TL's at all levels. Bring a sense of experimentation and, if you want a chance to play along, a device with the ability to access Google Classroom, Quillbot, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot (or ChatGPT).
